Hey!  Remember me?  It’s okay if you don’t—I haven’t posted since 2014, oh my goodness.  I know it’s a bit late to say this, but I remembered DA was a thing, and that I just kind of…left…but I am now posting on Instagram, as ReneeDoodles.  So, anybody who has an IG and wants to follow, come on over!  I hope to reunite with some of the people I used to talk to on here. :)

Objective: Choose 3-4 OCs and cast them using real actors/comedians you think would suit the roles, based on physical appearance or personality (or both).  You can use current actors or actors from the past.  Afterwards, tag 5-10 people you think would enjoy casting their own OCs.

I'm going to take a leaf out of Squonkhunter's book and pick the actors based on voice rather than appearance.

1. Roy Meloni
The Man in Plaid by TheRandomAnchovy
What to say about Roy...he's annoying, childish, Meloni-ish, and...completely oblivious to anything important.  I didn't picture him with a particularly deep voice, but I didn't want him to sound like a complete goof either.   After seeing Jaws for the first time  couple years ago (Shame on me for taking that long to see that movie in the first place!!), I decided Richard Dreyfuss had the perfect Roy voice. :D

2. Samuel Smith
Samuel Smith by TheRandomAnchovy (these are all such old pictures, man...)
Samuel Smith is bald, six-foot-infinity, and just a little bit crazy in the head.  Nobody you want to get on the wrong side of or meet in a dark alleyway.  It took me a while to think up a voice for him.  Even though he's kiiiind of crazy, he acts very laid-back and is surprisingly calm, unless he's cutting into you with a nice sharp scalpel, or something equally unappealing.  Just look at that warm smile. 8'D  In the end, I decided on Terrence Mann, though that could change.  But that guy just has such a lovely voice, both for speaking and for singing (though I can't really picture Samuel singing much ^^; ).

3. Lorraine Defaux
Roy and Lorraine by TheRandomAnchovy
Lorraine is a girl who tends to bite off more than she can chew, and I suspect might have a bit of an anxiety problem.  I wanted to look for a voice that went up and down in range a lot to show her panic and slight case of awkwardness, but not come off as too girly.  Turns out Claire Danes does that. :D

Hmm, who to tag...I'm not sure if all the ones I'm tagging really enjoy this kind of stuff or have OCs, but have fun if you do it. :D  Those I don't or forget to tag, feel free to do it anyway!  Just...pretend I tagged you.  :iconace-the-fsmlc: :iconredneckedcrake:  :iconerieks: :iconhwilki65: :iconstarlene: :iconalexhoey: :iconmissmillinu:

Well, I finally got a second job, this one making and selling pizza.  They'd better have anchovies...  I'm letting you know because, with this and the library, I'm not sure how much time I'll have to come online.  Granted, I haven't posted any pictures in nearly a month (my fault), but still!  I just wanted to let my watchers know.  :)  I start in a little less than a week, so we'll see then how well I can do this...God, I shouldn't be this nervous thinking about trying to make a darn pizza.  I'm starting to get butterflies in my stomach.

In other news, my watch list is nearly up to 100!  Small step for some, but SUCH A HUGE COMPLIMENT TO ME.  You guys are all awesome. :iconisaydanceplz:  Once it hits 100, I'm thinking about maybe opening up some art trades (depending on how busy work makes me, of course).  Would anybody be interested?  The plans are tentative, but I've had the thought in my head for a while now.

And many apologies for the slightly rambley journal, but my old one was from January, I think, so I was in need of an update.  ^^;

Tag time!~

*RULES*
1. You must post the rules.
2. Each person must post 5 things about themselves in their journal
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create eleven new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4. You have to choose 10 people to tag and post their icons on your journal.
5. Go to their page and tell them you have tagged them.
6. No tag backs
7. No stuff in the tagging section about "you're tagged if you're reading this". You legitimately have to tag 10 people.

Five things about myself
1. I probably like musicals a bit too much (Oh really, Chauvy?  We had NO idea.)…
2. I have four sisters, three cats, and live in a place where civilization is only a legend.
3. My current favorite TV show is American Horror Story (Bloody Face is the stuff of nightmares.  Go on.  Look him up—I dare you.).
4. Someday, I'd like to go to Antarctica.
5. When I was but a wee lass, I used to want to work for Disney (or Dreamworks)—but then they decided to abandon animation, which saddens me to no end. :(

Questions from :iconsquonkhunter:

1.If you were an oatmeal, what flavor would you be, and is this different from the flavor you think you'd be predestined to be?
I think I'd be the plain kind. I'm not very interesting unless you've known me for a while, h-haha. I don't think I'll ever be a different oatmeal.  …This sure sounds strange to say, if you were hearing it out-of-context.

2.In what instance would a hammer and a fish be ideal items to be handed?
Use the fish as chum, then go hunting for the shark in Jaws.  With a hammer.

3. Why aren't you filling this out faster?
Distractions galore!!

4. If you could BE a piece of clothing, what article would you be and why?
Oh gosh, what a tough question.  Uuum, I'd say maybe a…pin or brooch.  That way, I can observe everything without being noticed much.

5. How do we control this pest problem?
The hammer from question 2.

6. If you were suddenly transformed into a goat, how would you communicate with your friends to let them know the terrible predicament that has befallen you?
Morse Code with my hooves.  But we'd better all learn it, just in case this happens.

7. What is the weirdest thing you've heard a teacher/professor say?
Well, my art professor told my class that cartoons weren't art…maybe more maddening than weird, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

8. What do you believe is the first thing that goes through a fish's head when they learn they are in a box?
Don't worry, with a fish's memory, they'll forget a moment later.

9. Have you written your Christmas thank you cards yet? *arcs an eyebrow*
…Oh, whoops…  I drew a, um…picture in thanks for the one I got.

10. If you could learn how to masterfully use a weapon, what weapon would it be and what would you use it for?
Since the pen is mightier than the sword, does that count as a weapon…?  If not, then I suppose the sword. And I'd use it to…stab.

11. What is your favorite myth/legend about love? (For example: the red string of fate from Chinese legend.
Hmm, another tough question…  Well, it's not a myth or legend, but I have always liked Beauty and the Beast……  The Disney version…  Shush, their love is cute, even if it's not a myth or legend.  …Um.  Papageno and Papagena from Die Zauberflote have a cute love, too.  Again, not a myth or legend, but still.  Still.

My questions:
1. What is your favorite book?
2. While we're at it, which movie do you like most?
3. Do you like sushi?
4. If you had the opportunity to have lunch with one famous person (dead or alive...or fictional), who would it be, and what would you talk about?
5. And your favorite art style?
6. What is your favorite type of pants (or skirt)?
7. Do you hear the people sing??
8. What are your thoughts on dolls?  Creepy, or cute?
9. Quality, or quantity?
10. Are you a leftie, or a righty?
11. Last but not least, what is your favorite animal?

And now...I tag in no particular order (but I'm not forcing you to do it, no worries).

:iconredneckedcrake: :iconace-the-fsmlc: :icontrenchweasel: :iconmissmillinu: :iconlezithian: :iconanime-luver-12: :iconstarlene: :iconshamsarts:  (And if I was mean enough to forget you by accident (which I'm sure I did)...feel free to do it anyway!! :D We can pretend I tagged you.)

Les Mis

1 min read
So, after following updates of it for over a year, I saw the new Les Misérables movie today...I have to say, overall, it was amazing.  I thought some parts moved a little fast, but that was probably just me expecting more speaking parts through it.  They did such a good job at the theater makeup, too...the sores and grime and stuff some of the background singers had were disgustingly realistic.  Yuck.
As for the cast, I thought it was pretty great!  I was a little surprised with a couple of the voices (I had NO idea Anne Hathaway could sing), but I thought they all did a wonderful job. :D  I know a lot of people said they didn't like Russell Crowe's voice, but he turned out to be my favorite singer in the movie...
Anyway, I'm no critic, so I'm going to cut this short before it turns into some stupid rant.  Just, if you find yourself at a cinemas in the next couple months, definitely go see that movie.  Do eet.
